Pancakes for Peace

Pancakes for Peace

The Lupine ⅚ grade class made homemade pancakes, topped with Slopeside Syrup, strawberries, whipped cream, and blueberries (red, white & blue), and a tiny U.S. flag to celebrate the Winter Olympics. Slopeside Syrup is run by a generational American Olympian ski family from Vermont.

The students worked to earn $248 which they donated along with a matching donation to send $496 to the Red Cross (a 3 time Nobel Peace Prize Winner) to help with the Ukraine Refugee crisis. This hands-on, integrated thematic activity was a win-win for all.  Parents supported their children, and helped them learn the value of work, and the power of giving.
